Police Commissioner Owen Ellington ordered the immediate interdiction of the policeman, pending the outcome of an investigation that has been launched into the matter.
Special Constable Ricardo Lewis of the Mobile Reserve was involved in an altercation with CVM cameraman Kirk Hall, on Saturday, July 3.

He was then locked in a police vehicle for several hours and then released without charge.
No reason was given for his being held.
A release issued by the CCN says the action was deemed necessary as a result of questionable behaviour on the part of Constable Lewis, while on duty at the scene of a fatal shooting in
Commissioner Ellington is reminding all members of the force of the need to conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) had expressed shock at the incident.
The Association had requested that the matter be investigated by the Commissioner, and the necessary actions taken against the officer involved.
