St. Ann police step up bus park use initiative
Jul 19

The St. Ann’s Bay Police in St. Ann have seized 17 vehicles and issued more than 60 traffic tickets as they step up efforts to get taxi and bus operators to use the designated bus park.

The police say this will be an on-going effort to prevent bus and taxi operators from using shop fronts and street corners as pick up and drop off points.

Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of Operations for St. Ann Nathan Boreland says police personnel have been deployed to deal with the matter.

DSP Boreland says the public transport operators have been complying and are using the transportation centre.

He notes that the operators have complained that commuters refuse to use the bus park and lighting at nights is an issue.

DSP Boreland says concession will be made for the operators at nights.
