Janieve Russell of Holmwood Technical scored three wins to star the show at the opening meet of the year the WATA/Powerade/Jamaica College Invitational Track & Field Meeting.
The class three athlete registered a meet record 5.62 meters to land the long jump event. She also captured the girls high jump at 1.70 meters and sped to victory in the 80 meter hurdles in 11. 80 seconds.
Shaneka Thomas of Vere, was also in record breaking form posting 1.75 meters to better her 1.70 set last year in the girls class two high jump.
Natoya Goule of Manchester High was a double winner - she took the girls 3000 meters in 10:47.42 seconds to lead home a Manchester 1-2-3 in the event and clocked 2:19.30 seconds to win the girls 800m.
Kamal Fuller of Wolmers was also a double gold medal winner - he came out on top in the boys 110 meter hurdles in 14.30 seconds, following which he cleared 7.25 meters to win the long jump crown.
Holmwood Technical’s Andrea Segree (14.00 seconds) captured the 100 meter hurdles ahead of Leslie Ann Mitchell of Manchester high - 14.10 seconds.
Patrick Campbell of Munro clocked 14.90 seconds on his way to victory in the boys class two 110 meter hurdles.
The St. Hugh’s pair of Candicea Bernard - 13.17 meters and Micara Vassell - 12.59 meters, topped the girls' shot put open, while Shanice Levy of Edwin Allen won the girls class four long jump at 4.95 meters.
