Reggae Boys whip T&T 3-1
Aug 11

Jamaica’s Reggae Boys have secured an impressive victory over archrivals Trinidad and Tobago in their friendly international match at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Port of Spain.

The reigning Caribbean champions carved out a 3-1 victory over the host the first result between the two in their last four meetings as their previous three games in recent times dating back to 2008 all ended in drawn scorelines.

Dane Richards put Jamaica ahead in the 7th minute but the Trinis drew level against the run of play in the 27th when Devon Jorsling side-footed home Keon Daniel’s cross from the left.

Rudolph Austin restored Jamaica’s lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute but it was it Kavin Brian in the 53rd who put the issue beyond the host.

Jamaica ended the game with 10 men as Austin was sent off after a foul on Kendall Jagdeosingh.

The game was the first leg of a two way friendly tie with the return match set for the National Stadium in Kingston on October 10.

Jamaica next assignment will however be on September 5 at the National Stadium when they host Central American side Costa Rica in another friendly encounter.
