Sagicor West Indies HPC beat Bermuda by 18 runs

The Sagicor West Indies High Performance center has made a winning start to the Canadian Summer Cricket Festival.

This after they beat Bermuda by 18 runs in their rain reduced match at the Malton Cricket Club in Mississauga, Ontario.

Batting first the, Sagicor HPC after making a solid start, suffered a late innings collapse which saw them losing their last 8 wickets for 39 runs in just 6 overs to be dismissed for 171in 29.4 overs.

Left-handed opener Kieran Powell led the way with 46 in an opening partnership of 79 with Rajendra Chandrika who made 32.

Jamaican Nkrumah Bonner supported with 29 against Malachi Jones who took 4 wickets.

Bermuda in reply were restricted to 153 for 7 in 30 overs.

Skipper David Hemp topscored with 78, while Brandon Bess was the leading bowler with 2 for 20.

The Sagicor HPC will play their second match against Canada on Thursday at 9 am Jamaica time.
