Bahamian charged for drug seizure

A Bahamian National who arrested in connection with a massive drug bust in St James last week has been charged.

He is Chevron Roberts.

Roberts is booked to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate Court on Monday.

In the meantime, three others who were charged following the seizure of over 2,600 pounds of compressed ganja were remanded when they appeared in court yesterday.

They are 32-year-old farmer Oneal Buckridge of Dundee, Westmoreland, 26-year-old security guard Gawayne Stewart of Barrett Hall, St James and Ucal Mcnight, a computer technician.

The men were taken into custody by members of the Area One Transnational Crime and Narcotic Division (TCND) in connection with the seizure of the drug which is said to have a street value of over $26 million.
