Police investigates gruesome murder of St Ann teacher

The St. Ann police say they have collected statements from the husband and daughter of a school teacher who was shot dead in Boroughbridge this morning.

Police also say they are not able to disclose at this time details of investigations into the murder.

Dead is 43-year-old Beverly Allen. She was shot three times in the head at her home in the boroughbridge area.

Mrs Allen was a teacher at the Clarksonville Primary School in the parish.

It’s reported that about 4:00 a.m., gunmen gained access to the house through a bathroom window.

Police say the intruders tied up Mrs Allen’s teenaged daughter.

It’s further reported that Mrs Allen was shot dead when she tried to escape.

Commanding Officer for St Ann, Senior Superintendent Carlton Wilson says it appears the gunmen robbed the premises.

Following the incident, Mrs Allen’s husband was taken to the Cave Valley Police Station where he gave a statement.

It is not clear if Mr Allen was at home at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, the principal of the school says staff and students are still in shock, following the gruesome murder of the teacher.
