St Ann driver charged after 3-year-old dies in accident

The driver of the motor car involved in a motor vehicle accident which claimed the life of a three-year-old boy in Mammee Bay St. Ann this morning has been charged.

Olson Gordon has been slapped with charges of driving without a driver’s licence, driving an unlicensed motor car, driving without insurance coverage and driving without a valid certificate of fitness.

Three-year-old Sachin Levers of Exchange in Ocho Rios St. Ann was killed in the crash.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) says Gordon is to appear before the St. Ann's Bay RM Court on October 22.

He has been released from police custody but has been warned for further prosecution.

Reports to Irie FM News are that about 1:00 a.m., the child and his father were being transported to hospital when the driver of the car in which they were traveling swerved to avoid another vehicle and lost control of his car.

The vehicle collided into a tree.

The occupants were taken to hospital where the child was pronounced dead. His father who received injuries was treated and released.
