St. James wanted man fatally shot by police

One of St. James most wanted was killed in an alleged shoot out with the police in Camrose St. James this morning.

Two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunitions were reportedly seized in the incident.

Dead is 27-year -old Kemado Edwards otherwise called Joe of Camrose district.

Edwards was named among the parish’s most wanted just over a year ago.

Police say Edwards was wanted in relation to the shooting death of the son of former St. James councillor, Donald Colamatti last year and several other shootings in the parish.

CCN liaison officer for St. James, Sergeant Camille Tracey says Edwards and two other men engaged the police in a shootout and was killed.

She says a forged Canadian driver’s licence and citizenship card were also seized.
