Dancehall superstar Mavado continues to win accolades the world over. VIBE magazine has included his current Billboard smash "I'm So Special" in their Top 80 Songs of 2008. VIBE magazine will also be sending one of their top writers Rob Kenner along with a photographer to Jamaica this week to do an in-depth feature on Mavado for their April issue. This will be another first for Mavado, as Reggae and Dancehall stars are usually restricted to inches in Kenner's famed Boom Shots column, but Mavado will be getting a 4-page spread of his own.

Dancehall’s “Gangster For Life” has been everywhere this year, from Grand Theft Auto IV to collabos with Jay-Z and G Unit. Just in case you were wondering why, he breaks it down over a reprise of Dave Kelly’s “Showtime” riddim. “I’m so special,” he points out. “That’s why me strapped with a .45 special.”

The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
