Newark authorities are seeking help from anyone who was in the audience at a Mavado concert on May 12 at the Palladium Ballroom on Branford Place.

The minute-and-a-half-long video clip the prosecutor's office released shows Mavado on stage, as numerous audience members filming the show with their phones, standing only a few feet away from him. Two gunshots ring out, and the person holding the camera momentarily drops to the floor. The video does not show the shooting itself.

With the camera still filming, audience members can be heard screaming seconds later.

Mavado who was performing with microphone in hand when the shooting happened, was later interviewed by the prosecutor's office and is not considered a suspect.

The gunman remains at large and unidentified.

One patron was shot dead while a security guard the club hired was shot in the arm, but survived.

Anyone with a video clip of the concert is asked to email the prosecutor's office, at homicidetips@njecpo.org.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
