Carter & Frater best Jamaican finishers in Stockholm

Jamaica's  sprint  relay  gold  medallists Nesta Carter  and  Michael  Frater secured  podium  finishes in  the  men’s 100 metre event at the  IAAF Samsung Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden.

Carter took second spot in a time of 10.06 seconds, with Frater finishing third in 10.12 seconds. Olympic finalist Ryan Bailey of the USA topped the field in a quick 9.93 seconds.

Olympic finalist Leford Green had to settle for a third place finish in the men’s 400 metre hurdles.

The former Kingston College runner clocked 48.97 seconds to finish behind the American Michael Tinsey who won in 48.50 seconds, with  Olympic champion Félix Sanchez of Dominica second in 48.93 seconds.

Aneisha McLaughlin took 4th place in the women’s 200m in 22.96 seconds with Sherone Simpson 6th in 23.15 seconds.

Bridgette Foster-Hylton ended a disappointing 7th in the 100m hurdles in12.96 seconds.

The event was won by Olympic silver medallist Dawn Harper in 12.65 seconds with her American compatriot Kellie Wells second in 12.76 seconds.

The women’s 400m event was won by Sanya Richards-Ross in 49.80 seconds ahead of Amantle Montsho of Botswana (50.03 seconds) and Christine Ohuruogu of Britain 50.77 seconds.
