14 additional Covid-19 deaths recorded with 546 new cases and 723 hospitalizations

Jamaica has recorded 14 additional Covid-19 related deaths.

The death tally now stands at 1,791.

Six of the deceased are from Manchester, four are from St. Elizabeth, three are from Kingston and St. Andrew and one from St. Catherine.

Two of the deaths were previously under investigation.

The deaths occurred between August 31 and September 16.

10 deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, there were 5-hundred and 46 new Covid-19 cases pushing the tally to 79,673.

They range in age from 1 day to 98 years.

St. Catherine recorded the highest number of cases with 148 followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 127.

Manchester was next with 42 cases.

All parishes recorded new cases.

The positivity rate is 30.6%.

723 persons are in hospital, among them, 102 are severely ill, 55 are critically ill, and 150 are moderately ill.

Meantime, 146 more persons have recovered, pushing the tally to 50,787.

There are 26,556 active cases.
