14 persons detained under State of Public Emergency in St. James

Up to yesterday (January 8), there were 14 persons still in detention under the State of Public Emergency in St. James.

The State of Public Emergency in St. James is due to expire on January 31.

Already the States of Emergency in St. Catherine North and the Corporate Area have expired and saw some 30 persons being released from detention.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell in speaking with Horace Dalley says the Emergency Powers Review Tribunal is monitoring their detention.
