The number of people being hospitalized for COVID-19 treatment continues to rise.
The Health Ministry reported yesterday that 241 people were hospitalized, the highest so far.
41 of the patients were deemed moderately ill, while 24 were in critical condition.
Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton last week said the occupancy-level in hospitals was at 85.4% and this was a major warning signal.
He also said just over 130 additional beds were being made available which would increase beds for COVID-19 patients to 495.
For over a week now, the number of COVID cases each day has surpassed 200.
The latest information provided yesterday saw an increase of 205 cases which pushed the country’s case count to 19,035.
There are 5,875 active cases.
