3 more Covid-19 deaths and 74 new cases recorded yesterday

Three more persons have died from Covid-19, pushing the country’s death toll to 809.

The deceased are, a 72-year-old female from St. Mary; and two females from St. Catherine – aged 66 and 24 years old.

Meantime, 74 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19, pushing the case count to 46,782.

Of the new cases, 48 are females, and 26 are males, with ages ranging from 53 days, to 87 years.

A breakdown by parish shows, that Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 16.

Westmoreland and St. James had 9 each, St. Elizabeth and St. Catherine had 8 each, St. Mary had 6, Portland had 5, Hanover 4, and St. Thomas and Clarendon 3 each.

Trelawny and St. Ann recorded no new case.

The Health Ministry recorded a positivity rate of 7.4 percent.

There are 178 Covid hospitalizations, with 15 patients critically ill and 7 moderately ill.

127 more persons have recovered from Covid-19, pushing total recoveries to 46,782.

There are 23,234 active cases.
