Cabinet approves multi-million dollar contract for procurement of HIV treatment drug

Cabinet has given approval for a contract valued at US$1.6 million for the procurement of anti-retroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV.


Information Minister Fayval Williams says the contract will last for approximately 12 months.


Anti-retro-viral drugs keep HIV under control, protecting the immune system of persons with the virus so they can stay healthy and live longer.


She was speaking at this morning’s (December 1) post-Cabinet press briefing.
