One of the unions representing rank and file members of the Department of Correctional Services says commissioner Jevene Bent has confirmed to them that she will demit office before month end. Reports had emerged earlier that commissioner Bent was leaving the job. Speaking with IRIE FM News this afternoon, senior negotiating officer of the University and Allied Workers Union, Aston Johnson says commissioner Bent indicated her intention to leave at a meeting yesterday.
