Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says Jamaica has confirmed 6 additional cases of Covid-19 in the past 48 hours.

This means the country now has 53 total confirmed cases of the disease.

Speaking at a digital press conference a short while ago, the health minister gave an update on the new cases.

Dr. Tufton noted that five more persons, including patient 1, have been released from hospital, after two negative tests.

He urged persons not to discriminate against those who have been released when they return to their communities.

And the health minister notes that more than 500 people have been tested for Covid-19, with 3 tests pending.
