Possible relief to consumers as inflation slows down – Byles

Consumers and business owners could get some relief, as the rate of price-increases in the country, slows down, due to a downward trend in inflation.

Speaking at a quarterly Monetary policy Press Conference on Monday, Bank of Jamaica Governor, Richard Byles said inflation in Jamaica has continued to ease.

Mr. Byles said the central bank’s resolve is to see inflation firmly anchored between 4 and 6 per cent, to allow stakeholders, consumers, and businesses to plan within a macro-economic environment, where inflation is low, stable and predictable.

However, there is a risk of inflation, once again breaching the target.
