Corporate Area Bus Operators Reportedly Hiking Fares Due To Traffic Changes

by September 11th, 2018

Some bus operators who ply routes in and out of the corporate area are said to be hiking fares, claiming that passengers have to pay for taking the toll road, due to recent traffic changes.

The route changes resulted from traffic restrictions implemented by the National Works Agency (NWA), especially in the Three Miles area.

A caller to Irie FM News last evening lamented that bus operators who ply the Old Harbour to Kingston route are charging both adults and children $250.

The regular fare for adults is $200 while children should pay half that amount.

She said the hike is unfair, and passengers should not be penalized for the route changes.

She is calling on the relevant authorities to intervene.
