Counselling sessions to be provided for students and staff at St. Andrew Technical High in Kingston following killing of footballer last evening.

Arrangements are being made to provide counselling sessions for students and staff at the St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) in Kingston, following the killing of a student last evening (April 22).


Police say about 5:23 pm, Omar Laing was killed during a drive-by shooting along Charles Street in Western Kingston.


He was celebrating his eighteenth birthday.


Speaking with IRIE FM news, STATHS Principal, Dr. Worrel Henry says several students have expressed shock at the passing of one of the school’s football stars.


He says support will be given to the school community in handling the tragic loss.

Dr. Henry adds that support will be given to Laing’s mother who has contributed greatly to the school community.
