Commanding Officer for Westmoreland, Superintendent Gary McKenzie says the police continue to see a reduction in criminal activities in the parish, following the arrest of several gang members.
Yesterday, the police charged seven alleged members of the King’s Valley gang, who were picked-up in an operation last month, in Peggy Barry District, Grange Hill, Westmoreland.
The men are facing various charges to include, being members of a criminal organization, and conspiracy to murder.
They are to face the Home Circuit Court, next Thursday, November 8.
Superintendent McKenzie says the Westmoreland police are strengthening their ability to further reduce crime, and arrest gang members from the King’s Valley area.
He says the police are employing other strategies to keep citizens safe.
Superintendent McKenzie is encouraging more social interventions, simultaneous with policing activities, to steer young men away from crime.
