Candidates for the 2021 Caribbean Examination Council, CXC exams, now have close to an additional 2 weeks to apply for deferral.
This as the deadline has been extended from today May 1 to Friday May 14.
In a Twitter post this morning, CXC said this follows feedback from stakeholders.
Several Caribbean countries have been lobbying for the CXC syllabus to be narrowed, due to issues plaguing the region, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Candidates have been given the option to defer until the January or May/June sitting next year.
CXC says for further guidance regarding deferral, in-school candidates should contact their principal and private candidates should contact the overseas examination commission.
