Following his defeat in the recent East Portland by-election, Damion Crawford has been re–appointed to the Senate.
Speaking at a special meeting of the National Executive Council, NEC, held at the University of the West Indies, Mona today (April 14), President of the People’s National Party, Dr. Peter Phillips said Mr Crawford who recently resigned from the Senate to stand as the party’s candidate in the by-election, will return to the Upper House.
Dr. Phillips also announced that university Lecturer, Economist, and PNP Caretaker for West Central St James, Dr Andre Haughton, will replace long-time PNP Senator, Noel Sloley, who is set to demit office soon.
Dr Phillips, whose leadership was resoundingly reaffirmed by the NEC, added that changes will also be made to the Shadow Cabinet.
The PNP said the Governor General has been notified of the changes.
