Drought forces NWC to issue prohibition notice

The government says it will take a zero tolerance approach to certain activities involving the use of water, as the authorities try to conserve the limited supplies available islandwide.Water Minister Robert Pickersgill says this approach is being taken, in addition to the appeal by the government for residents to conserve on the use of water during this critical period.Mr. Pickersgill told Parliament this afternoon (July 2) that by this weekend the National Water Commission (NWC) will issue a prohibition notice on certain activities including the washing of vehicles.
