The Education Ministry says it has commenced the process of providing laptops for teachers across the island.
The Ministry is seeking to provide 5, 000 laptops for teachers by the end of the year.
Addressing yesterday’s (October 12) sitting of Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Grace McLean said some 26, 000 tablets have been provided to teachers. However, she noted that laptops have proven to be better tools for teaching.
She said, as a result, the Ministry has started the laptop procurement process.
In the meantime, she says schools are encouraged to use grants provided by the Ministry to source laptops for teachers.
