Eight persons prosecuted in St. James for breaches of COVID-19 regulations

by April 9th, 2020

Some eight persons have been prosecuted by the St. James police for breaches of the measures put in place by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

That’s according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in charge of operations for the parish, Kevin Francis.

Speaking at a meeting of the St. James Municipal Corporation today (April 9), DSP Francis noted that two persons have also been warned for prosecution under the Disaster Risk Management Order.

DSP Francis expressed concern that persons, including market vendors, are still not adhering to the measures implemented to curb the spread of the virus.

He noted that some of the persons found to be in breach are employees of the Municipal Corporation.
