The Electoral Office of Jamaica, EOJ, says, it is ready for the Clarendon South Eastern parliamentary by-election, set for next Monday, March 2.
Director of Elections, Glasspole Brown notes that, the by-election is fully funded and all is in place to facilitate a smooth operation.
Stressing that plans are in place for a trouble-free voting process, Mr. Brown states that Monday’s by-election will be treated as a specialist constituency.
He says the plan is to operate 135 polling stations in the constituency.
The preliminary result is expected to be released before 7:30 p–m.
The by-election follows the resignation of Member of Parliament, Rudyard Spencer.
On February 12, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Pearnel Charles Jnr and independent candidate Dereck Lambert, were nominated to contest the seat.
