Freddie McGregor plans virtual concert to celebrate 64

Veteran Reggae singer Freddie McGregor will celebrate his 64th birthday with a virtual concert on Saturday, June 27.

The event which marks Freddie McGregor’s first Online Reggae Party will feature his son Chino McGregor, Cat Core of the Third World Band, Singing Sweet, Christopher Martin, and Naomi Cowan.

The Reggae concert is slated for 7 pm Jamaica time on Saturday.

Freddie McGregor is among the top 10 finalists in the Jamaica Festival 2020 song finals along with Grammy-winning entertainer Buju Banton, two-time festival song winner Toots and the Maytals, LUST, Papa Michigan, and Shuga.

These established entertainers entered the Festival Song contest in a bid to re-energize the competition.

The Jamaica Cultural Development (JCDC) Jamaica Festival 2020 song winner, will be selected on July 19, after a series of virtual, social, and broadcast media campaigns to get Jamaicans involved in the voting process.
