Fully vaccinated senior citizens can apply for government incentives, come July 15

by June 9th, 2021

Elderly citizens, 60 years and over, who have been fully vaccinated will be able to apply for their ten thousand dollar incentive grant, as of July 15.

The announcement was made by Minster of Finance Dr. Nigel Clarke, while speaking in parliament, yesterday (June 8).

Dr. Clarke also said, all vaccinated senior citizens will now be able to benefit from the government’s Conditional Cash Transfer, CCTV grant.

It was previously only accessible to seniors with a salary of up to 1.5 million dollars annually.

Dr. Clarke disclosed that the programme will be done digitally, through the use of the CARE Program.

Applications can be submitted via the WE CARE website.

The incentive is part of the government’s efforts to eliminate the vulnerability of senior citizens to the Coronavirus, by ensuring that they are vaccinated.

Statistics indicate that 733, of the overall 974 Covid-19 related deaths, are persons 60 years and older.
