Golding calls for government to give an account of money spent in Commonwealth Secretary General campaign

Opposition leader Mark Golding has called for the government to give an account for the money it spent in the recent campaign for senator Kamina Johnson-Smith to be elected as Commonwealth General Secretary.

His comment comes on the heels of Mrs Johnson-Smith losing her bid in the election.

She challenged baroness Patricia Scotland, but lost in a 27 to 24 vote in Kigali Rwanda on Friday.

Speaking at a PNP Divisional Conference in Papine yesterday Mr Golding reiterated his opposition to Johnson-Smith’s candidature while describing it as waste of tax-payers’ money.

He reiterated that the move by the government was misguided and bad for the economy.
