Advocacy group, Hear the Children’s Cry, says a multi-level meeting of all stakeholder in the education system is needed, to address school violence.

Founder, Betty-Ann Blaine says the group is alarmed at the series of incidents of violence in schools in recent weeks, involving a principal, teachers, parents and students.

She wants Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, to convene an immediate meeting with representatives of the Jamaica Teacher’s Association, the Jamaica Association of Principals, the Church, National Association of Deans of Discipline, and the Child Protection and Family Services Agency.

Mrs. Blaine contends that the root of the problem is family life.
