Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says yesterday’s COVID-19 death tally was for patients who died over recent days

Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton has sought to explain why yesterday’s

COVID-19 death tally, was a new daily record of 13, stating that the deaths occurred over the past few days.

 

In a social media post this afternoon, Dr. Tufton pointed out that 3 of the deaths occurred yesterday, March 16. These are from St. Catherine, St. Elizabeth and St. Thomas.

 

One additional confirmed death took place on Tuesday, March 15, from St. Thomas.

 

Another one took place last Friday, March 5, from Kingston and St. Andrew.

 

2 additional confirmed deaths took place on March 10, from St. Elizabeth and Kingston and St. Andrew.

 

Another 2 confirmed deaths took place on March 6, from Kingston and St. Andrew.

 

3 other confirmed deaths took place on March 14, from Kingston and St. Andrew and St. Thomas.

 

And, one more confirmed death took place on March 13, from Kingston and St. Andrew.

 

The Health Ministry’s COVID-19 statistics include a category of deaths under investigation, which means the patient died days before the  confirmation for COVID-19.
