Health Ministry receives 10 thermal scanners in light of Covid-19 threat

The Ministry of Health has received ten thermal scanners, valued over two hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($280,000).

The donation was made by Sandals Resorts International and is expected to significantly boost the capacity of the ministry’s medical staff, to check for elevated temperatures in individuals.

National Epidemiologist, Dr. Karen Webster Kerr, says, the equipment will be pivotal in ongoing efforts, to prevent an outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus in Jamaica.

Meantime, Sandals Group Manager for Communications and Public Relations, Sheryl Mcgaw-Douse, says, the entity is concerned about the impact of Covid-19 globally and as such, is supporting efforts to safeguard Jamaica’s points of entry.
