The Health Ministry has spent almost all its $2.8 billion dollar budget for the coronavirus response and will be seeking additional funding from the Finance Ministry.

This was revealed by Permanent Secretary in the Health Ministry Dunstan Bryan at a COVID press briefing.

He explained that the bulk of the expenditure went to medical equipment, pharmaceutical drugs, and transfers to the regional authorities.

Chief Executive Officer at the National Health Fund (NHF) Everton Anderson gave a breakdown of how some of the funds were spent at parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) meeting on Tuesday.
