Hibbert shines bright at Penns

World Under 20 silver medalist Jaydon Hibbert of Kingston College, Dajonae Raymond of St Elizabeth Technical, Trevor Gunzell and Christopher Young both of Edwin Allen, secured Championship honors in the morning session of day two of the 126th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Hibbert a runner up at the World Under 20 Championships in Kenya last year, topped the triple jump field for high school boys, when he leapt 15.94 meters to finish ahead of Ryan John of Valley Stream North out of New York.

Dajonae Raymond of STETHS, upset the field in the boys high jump to take the event with a leap of 2.05 meters, to finish ahead of Damarion Potts of South Brunswick of New Jersey who did 1.99 meters.

Edwin Ellen’s Trevor Gunzel threw the implement some 61.79 meters to win the high school boys discuss throw to finish ahead of Racquil Brodrick of Jamaica College who had a best of 59.43 meters while Christopher Young also of Edwin Allen hurled 19.87 meters to win the shot putt with 19.87 meters ahead of Kobe Lawrence of Calabar who did 19.68.
