House of Representatives to begin debate on amendments to DRMA tomorrow

The House of Representatives is to begin debate on amendments to the Disaster Risk Management Act tomorrow (March 23).

 

Prime Minister, Andrew Holness says Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie tabled the amendments, last Thursday.

 

He says the intention is to have it passed as quickly as possible to ensure the police are empowered with the new amendments for enforcement of the law.

 

This will include ticketing for non-wearing of masks and other breaches of the protocols.
