Jamaica records 199 new Covid-19 cases and 1 more death

Jamaica has recorded 199 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the country’s case count to 45, 777.

Of the new cases 119 are females and 80 are males.

Their ages range from 5 months to 95 years.

All parishes but St. Thomas recorded new cases.

St. Ann recorded the highest number of cases with 49, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 37.

Meantime, the Health Ministry says a 70 year old man from Kingston and St. Andrew is the only death recorded yesterday (April 30).

The death toll now stands at 779.

There were 3 more coincidental deaths.

And, 6 other deaths are now under investigation.

94 more persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 21, 153.

23,505 cases are active.

204 persons are in hospital, among them, 22 who are critically ill and 15 who are moderately ill.
