Jamaica records 2 more Covid-19 related deaths

Two more persons have died from the Coronavirus, Covid-19 in the island.

The new deaths which were recorded yesterday (August 2) are a 64-year-old male from Clarendon and a 73-year-old female from St. Thomas.

The total number of Covid- 19-related deaths is now 12.

Meantime, 11 new samples have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 894.

The new cases include seven females and four males with ages ranging from 13 to 73 years.

Two were imported, having arrived recently on flights from the USA and Dominica Republic; two are contacts of confirmed cases and seven are under investigation.

The new cases were recorded in St. Catherine, Clarendon, St. James, St. Ann, St. Mary, St. Thomas, and Kingston and St. Andrew.

Jamaica now has 90 active cases, with two moderately ill patients, there is no critically ill case at this time. 743 persons have recovered.
