Jamaica records 25 new COVID-19 cases and 3 more COVID-19 deaths

Three more people have died from COVID-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 2,432.


The deaths occurred between September 18 and December 13.


The deceased lived in St. James, Hanover and St. Ann. They ranged in age from 71 to 87 years.


The Health and Wellness Ministry says four other deaths are under investigation.


Meantime, 25 more people have tested positive for the virus, pushing the country’s case count to 91,868.


Of the new cases, 16 are females and 9 are males. They range in age from 11 months to 77 years.


The positivity rate is 3.3 per cent.


104 persons are hospitalized. 21 of them are moderately ill, 11 are severely ill and 2 are critically ill.


28 more persons have recovered from COVID-19, pushing total recoveries to 63,595.
