Jamaica yesterday (January 22) recorded 4 additional Covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 336.
The deceased are a 61 year old man from St. Ann, a 43 year old man from St. James, a 63 year old woman from St. Elizabeth and an 83 year old woman from Kingston and St. Andrew.
There was also one coincidental death which was previously under investigation.
Meantime, 114 new cases were recorded yesterday, pushing the country’s case count to 14,772.
Of the new cases 45 are males and 69 are females with ages ranging from 10 months to 94 years.
Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 20, followed by St. Catherine with 18.
St. Elizabeth had 15, St. Thomas had 13, Clarendon, Manchester and St. Ann had 10 each, St. James had 8, St. Mary had 6, while Trelawny and Hanover had 2 each.
There were 17 recoveries pushing the tally to 11,850.
2,413 cases are active.
99 persons are hospitalised, among them 13 who are moderately ill and 13 who are critically ill.
