Jamaica records 5 more Covid-19 related deaths and 186 new cases

Jamaica has recorded 5 more Covid-19 related deaths.

The deceased are all from Kingston and St. Andrew.

Among them are three women ages 60, 74 and 83 and two men ages 64 and 84.

The country’s death toll is now 697.

The Health Ministry says five deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, 186 new cases were recorded yesterday (April 14), pushing that tally to 43,240.

Of the new cases 102 are females, 82 are males and 2 are under investigation.

Their ages range from 49 days to 91 years.

All parishes but Hanover recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew had the highest with 59, followed by St. Catherine with 28.

121 persons have recovered.

367 persons are in hospital, among them are 32 who are critically ill and 34 who are moderately ill.
