Jamaica records 56 new Covid-19 cases and 2 deaths

The Health Ministry is reporting 56 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the tally to 90, 961.

Of the new cases, 33 are females and 23 are males.

They range in age from 4 months to 93 years.

All parishes except Clarendon, Hanover and Manchester recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 21, followed by St. James with 9.

The positivity rate is 7.6%.

Meantime, 2 additional Covid-19 related deaths have pushed the country’s death toll to 2,367.

The deceased are two females; an 87year-old from Trelawny and a 69-yearold from Kingston & St. Andrew.

The Health Ministry says two additional deaths are under investigation.

103 more persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 62,171.

174 persons are in hospital, among them, 20 who are severely ill, 8 critically ill and 34 moderately ill.
