Jamaica records 6 more Covid-19 related deaths and 161 new cases

Six more persons have died from Covid-19, pushing the country’s death toll to 682.

The deceased are two males and three females from St. Elizabeth; and one male from Manchester.

Their ages range from 41 to 88 years.

There were 2 coincidental deaths and one death is under investigation.

Meantime the country recorded 161 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, pushing the case count to 42,924.

Of the new cases, 79 are females and 82 are males, with ages ranging from 2 to 96 years.

A parish breakdown shows, that Kingston and St. Andrew had highest number of cases with 37, followed by St. Thomas with 29.

St. Mary had 20, St. Catherine 14, St. Ann 11, Clarendon and St. Elizabeth had 10 each, Portland and Westmoreland 8 each, Hanover 6, Trelawny 5 and Manchester 3.

Meantime, 384 persons have been hospitalized due to Covid-19, with 35 patients moderately ill and 37 critically ill.

However, 119 more persons have recovered from Covid-19.

There are 22, 802 active cases.
