Jamaica records 6 more Covid-19 related deaths and 83 new cases

Jamaica has recorded 6 more Covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 744.

The deceased are a 41 year old female from Manchester and five males, one from Manchester, one from Kingston and St. Andrew and 3 from St. Elizabeth.

Their ages range from 53 to 96 years.

The Health Ministry says 2 deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, 83 cases were recorded yesterday (April 20), pushing the country’s case count to 44,337.

Of the new cases 37 are females and 46 are males.

Their ages range from 8 months to 93 years.

All parishes but St. Mary recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 17 followed by St. Catherine with 13.

Meantime, 108 persons have recovered, pushing total recoveries to 20,070.

23,203 cases are active.

299 persons are in hospital among them are 29 who are critically ill and 20 who are moderately ill.
