Jamaica records 7 more Covid-19 related deaths and 165 new cases

Jamaica has recorded 7 more Covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 751.

The deceased include two females from Westmoreland and St. James aged 80 and 67 respectively.

The others are 5 males from Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine and St. Mary, with ages ranging from 60 to 73.

The Health Ministry says 2 deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, 165 new cases were recorded yesterday (April 21), pushing that tally to 44,502.

Of the new cases 83 are males and 82 are females.

Their ages range from 9 days to 94 years.

All parishes but Portland recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew had the highest number of cases with 53, followed by St. Catherine with 34.

Meantime, 100 persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 20,170.

23,259 cases are active.

269 persons are in hospital, among them are 26 who are critically ill and 20 who are moderately ill.
