Jamaicans are set to benefit from nearly 2 million doses of Johnson and Johnson Coronavirus vaccines over the next 12 months.
Chairman of the National Health Fund, NHF, Howard Mitchell says the vaccines are being procured from the Africa Medical Supply Platform.
Responding to questions about possible hesitancy in the uptake of that vaccine due to recent warning from the US Food and Drug Administration that the shot has been linked to a serious but rare side effect called Guillain-Barré Syndrome, GBS in which the immune system attacks the nerves, Mr. Mitchell says almost all drugs have side effects.
