Jamaica is set to miss the goal of fewer than three hundred road fatalities in a year.
A number of persons were killed in crashes on the weekend pushing road fatalities to 298 since January.
Director of the Road Safety Unit, Kenute Hare says with only 2 fatalities away from the 300 mark, the under 300 goal is no longer achievable this year.
He is however, urging Jamaicans not to exceed 322 road fatalities.
Since the start of November, 9 persons have been killed on the nation’s roadways. Mr. Hare is urging road users to embrace road safety.
He is appealing to families to do their part.
