Some Jamaican celebrities have joined the conversation, demanding justice for George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died after a white Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck.

Dancehall legend, Beenie Man, Gramps Morgan, Ziggy Marley, Cecile, and Queen Ifrika, along with international celebs such as Cardi B, Nas, T.I., DJ Khaled, and Justine Bieber have used their social media platforms to speak up.

Gramps Morgan during an interview with Music News said it is sad, and as a people, we should continue to use our voice.

The video captured by a bystander, shows the police officer driving his knee into George Floyd’s neck as the handcuffed man repeatedly said he can’t breathe.

Meanwhile, reports are that the four police officers involved in the incident were fired on Tuesday.

Following his death on Monday, hundreds of protesters packed the streets of Minneapolis, many gathering at the intersection where George Floyd was pinned to the ground by police officers shortly before he died.
